Siew Yi Li, violin
A recipient of the Max D. Jost Swiss foundation scholarship and the Rotary Club (Lausanne) 2004 violin recipient, Yi Li graduated from the class of world-renown concert violinist Pierre Amoyal (protégé of the legendary Jascha Heifetz) in the Conservatoire de Lausanne, Switzerland. Other notable teachers includes Mr. Alexander Souptel, concertmaster (1993 – 2012) of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Being frequently invited as soloist, chamber musician as well as orchestral musician, Yi Li has toured major cities in Switzerland, France, Austria, South Korea and China and has made appearances with various ensembles such as the Camerata de Lausanne, L’Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Hankook Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and the Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra, among others. Highlights of 2017 includes “Les Sonates Françaises”, a recital dedicated to French violin sonatas as well as concert tour with Re: Mix to the Tainan Arts Festival 2017 in Taiwan.
A violinist since the age of nine, Yi Li is also a self-taught violist and enjoys playing the viola.
